He is a plastic Surgeon specialist who works at his clinic in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he is dedicated primarily to body contouring and mammoplasties.
Always searching for new techniques that make Plastic Surgery safer and with more predictable results, Dr Álvaro is responsible for developing techniques such as Gluteal Codes®, a Lipo Ultra HD® and Lipograft Guided by Ultrasound. Visionary, he and Dr Alexandra Condé-Green are pioneer in using ultrasound to lipograft under direct vision. Nowadays, he is dedicated to demystifying ultrasound as a crucial tool for all plastic surgeons.
World-recognized, he is the author of many scientific articles published in mainly scientific magazines around the globe. He has written 11 chapters for books and published his own: “Gluteal Fat Augmentation: Best Practices in Brazilian Butt Lift”, published by the prestigious publisher Springer in 2021.
He is frequently invited to be a speaker and professor in courses and congresses worldwide, giving lectures about safety in liposuction, abdominoplasty, gluteal lipograft, Lipo Ultra HD® and the use of ultrasound in body contouring surgeries.
Currently, he is the National Assistant Secretaire of ISAPS ( International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery), adjunct regent of the Lipografting Chapter of SBCP (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery), and Director of the Scientific Events Department at SBCP-RJ (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery of Rio de Janeiro).
